Ranking Tom Brady's seven Super Bowl victories

Share

Tom Brady now has more Super Bowl titles than every NFL franchise after leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.The 31-9 blowout win marked the seventh championship of Brady's storied career. While it was one of the 43-year-old's most impressive feats, he refused to say how it stacks up against his other six titles.“I said last night that every year is different," Brady said the morning after Super Bowl LV. "This year has been incredible for me. it’s just been incredible. It’s great, that’s where I rank it."So we'll likely never know how Brady really compares his Bucs championship vs. his six with the Patriots, but that's OK. After all, Brady probably would tell you his favorite Super Bowl ring is "the next one."That won't keep us from ranking all seven of Brady's championships. Here's how the Bucs' Super Bowl victory stacks up against the rest.

This defensive showdown was a nail-biter, but it's undoubtedly the most forgettable Super Bowl victory of Brady's career. It's the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in NFL history and pretty much was a punt-off between Ryan Allen and Johnny Hekker.

That, of course, doesn't cheapen the fact it was Brady's final Super Bowl title in New England. That will always make it special. It just wasn't very exciting.

Brady's second Super Bowl victory came down to the wire as Adam Vinatieri once again kicked the game-winning field goal. Unlike the aforementioned Super Bowl, this one provided plenty of excitement. It even featured a touchdown pass from Brady to Mike Vrabel.

So why is it so low on this list, you ask? Well, the rest of Brady's Super Bowl titles were pretty great too.

Brady and the Patriots became back-to-back champions with their Super Bowl XXXIX victory over Philadelphia. The win marked New England's third Super Bowl title in four years.

While it wasn't Brady's best Super Bowl outing, this championship solidified the Patriots' status as a dynasty.

The one that started it all. Brady and the Patriots pulled off a huge upset over Kurt Warner and the "Greatest Show on Turf" to begin an unprecedented 20-year run.

This game had it all. Brady and the Patriots were up against a Seahawks team looking to repeat as Super Bowl champions, and the matchup did not disappoint.

Both teams traded punches until a Seattle victory seemed all but certain. Then, the Seahawks opted to throw a slant rather than simply hand the ball off to Marshawn Lynch at the goal line. Malcolm Butler picked Russell Wilson's pass off to produce one of the most memorable moments in sports history.

Patriots fans probably won't enjoy seeing Brady's Bucs championship all the way up here on this list, but we can't overlook just how amazing this accomplishment was. Brady joined a new team at age 43 during a global pandemic, and he was tasked with proving he can win without Bill Belichick and the "Patriot Way."

He did just that, going 11-5 in the regular season before beating Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers on the road in the playoffs, then dominating Patrick Mahomes and the mighty Chiefs in the Super Bowl. In Tampa Bay, no less!

If there was an argument against Brady being the "GOAT" before Super Bowl LV, it's virtually impossible to make that same argument now.

Unquestionably the greatest, most memorable Super Bowl of Brady's career. Perhaps the best Super Bowl of all time, period.

All hope seemed lost when the Patriots trailed the Falcons 28-3 late in the third quarter. Then, New England produced an unthinkable comeback to force overtime and earn the miraculous victory.

As if that wasn't enough of a case for Super Bowl LI being Brady's best, it also came after Brady was suspended the first four games of the season for his role in the Deflategate controversy. It doesn't get much sweeter than that.
