New England Patriots running back Brandon Bolden is opting out of the 2020 NFL season, WEEI's "The Greg Hill Show" reported Tuesday.

Bolden is the sixth Patriots player who intends not to play in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic as of Tuesday, per reports. Here's the list, which includes several core members of the franchise:

LB Dont'a Hightower
OT Marcus Cannon

RB Brandon Bolden
FB Danny Vitale
OG Najee Toran

S Patrick Chung

New England's players aren't alone; several players across the NFL have decided not to participate in the 2020 season, including Baltimore Ravens return specialist De'Anthony Thomas and Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif.

NFL players are expected to report to training camp this week, and while the league and the NFL Players Association agreed to a return-to-play plan last Friday, some players clearly aren't comfortable playing a high-risk sport amid a global pandemic.
