The Patriots, NFL, and NFL Players Association reportedly are doing everything they can to help Josh Gordon treat his drug addiction.
Gordon, who has struggled with substance abuse throughout his career, received an indefinite suspension in December for multiple drug policy violations. The 27-year-old now is receiving treatment at an inpatient facility in Gainesville, Fla. and the Patriots are paying to get him the help he needs, per Doug Kyed of NESN.com. The NFL and NFLPA also are helping Gordon receive treatment.
According to Kyed, Gordon's suspension was triggered by diluted drug test samples.
As the Patriots continue to show support for their troubled wide receiver, Gordon has returned the favor by congratulating his former team on social media after their Divisional Round and Conference Championship victories.
In 11 games this season with New England, Gordon caught 40 passes for 720 yards with three touchdowns.
