WATCH: Cole Strange's first pitch at MiLB game was…just a bit outside

Cole Strange is on his way to New England to play football for the Patriots, not pitch for the Boston Red Sox.

It's important to keep that in mind when viewing Strange's ceremonial first pitch on Tuesday night back in Tennessee, where he played college football, at a minor league baseball game.

Strange, who played college football at Chattanooga, was juuust a bit outside on his offering prior to a Lookouts' game, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

The good news is that if Strange is asked to throw out a first pitch at any venue in New England some day, perhaps even Fenway Park, he has nowhere to go but up.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Strange needn't lose too much sleep over his performance on the mound, of course. The only strikes he'll need to worry about are the ones he'll help Mac Jones throw to receivers by keeping the pocket clean.
