Craig Kimbrel's agent says closer is ‘best of all time'

All signs point to Craig Kimbrel earning a pretty penny in free agency.

In fact, if you ask his agent Dave Meter, the All-Star closer deserves to be paid as the best of all time. That's right... move aside, Mariano Rivera. There's a new GOAT in town.

Claiming Kimbrel is the best closer of all time obviously is a bold statement, but an agent's got to do what an agent's got to do.

Kimbrel had his fair share of issues in 2018, but the right-hander's 2017 season was one of the most dominant in MLB history. He posted a 1.43 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and notched a ridiculous 126 strikeouts in 69 innings (16.9 K/9). The 30-year-old had multiple seasons of the same caliber during his tenure with the Atlanta Braves.

Unfortunately for Kimbrel and his agent, his postseason woes are fresh in the minds of GMs looking for any reason not to empty the bank account on the seven-time All-Star.
