MLB Rumors: Red Sox part ways with President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski

The Red Sox have reportedly parted ways with President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski, according to Jeff Passan.

As of now, the Red Sox have not named a new head of Baseball Operations. According to Pete Abraham, Romero and fellow Assistant General Managers Brian O'Halloran and Zack Scott will run the department for the remainder of the 2019 season.

Boston named Dombrowski their head of baseball operations in August of 2015. His most notable moves include signing David Price and J.D. Martinez along with trading for Chris Sale. And now not even one season after the Red Sox won the World Series, Dombrowski is done in Boston.

Dombrowski addressed the fact that he was on the "hot seat" weeks ago, citing the three divisional championships and World Series title the Red Sox have captured since he took over the front office as reasons why he shouldn't have been worried about his job security.

The Red Sox have had a turbulent and disappointing 2019 season. Their lineup is one of the best in baseball and has maintained their incredible production from last season, but the pitching staff has not been as consistent.

Considering the amount of resources Dombrowski poured into the starting rotation and bullpen, their shortcomings have left a stain on his tenure in Boston.
