Another player linked to the Boston Red Sox in free agency is off the board.

Utility man Chris Taylor, who reportedly drew interest from the Red Sox, reached an agreement to re-sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, per The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

Taylor has played every position except for pitcher, catcher, and first base during his eight-year MLB career. The 31-year-old slashed .254/.344/.438 with 20 home runs and 73 RBI during the 2021 season and earned his first All-Star nod.

The Red Sox have been sticking to short-term deals with starting pitchers so far this offseason. They announced the signing of right-hander Michael Wacha on Monday and reportedly agreed to a deal with southpaw James Paxton on Wednesday.
