Bobby Dalbec quieted the doubters with a spectacular August, and he was rewarded for his efforts on Thursday.

Major League Baseball announced the Boston Red Sox first baseman has earned the American League Rookie of the Month award.

After struggling to find consistency at the plate this season, Dalbec exploded for seven home runs and 21 RBI in August while slashing .339/.431/.774. According to Red Sox Notes on Twitter, Dalbec ranked 1st in OPS (1.205), 2nd in OBP (.431), 2nd in SLG (.774) and 8th in batting average (.339) among AL players with 50+ plate appearances last month.
