David Ortiz hilariously trolls Adam Wainwright over 2013 World Series

John Tomase explains why despite the 2020 Red Sox being one to forget, there were still some positives to take from it.

Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz isn't going to let St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright forget about the 2013 World Series.

Ortiz and the Red Sox defeated Wainwright and the Cardinals in that Fall Classic, culminating with a Game 6 clincher at Fenway Park.

The Sox slugger had a remarkable series. He batted .688 (11-for-16) with two home runs, six RBI, seven runs scored, eight walks and only one strikeout. His on-base percentage was .760, which is just insane. It truly was one of the best World Series performances in history.

Wainwright is making his MLB broadcasting debut for FOX Sports on Tuesday, when he'll be on the call for Game 1 of the 2020 National League Division Series between the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves.

Ortiz, who's been working for several years as an analyst on FOX's coverage of the MLB postseason, couldn't resist trolling Wainwright before Tuesday's game.

Hey, it's a fair question from Ortiz.

The Cardinals really did wait way too long to stop pitching to Ortiz. They walked him four times in five plate appearances in Game 6, but by that point it was too late for St. Louis.
