Alex Cora has awesome reaction to Bill Belichick texting him before ALDS

Red Sox manager Alex Cora got a few texts from a fellow Boston sports coach last week as his team prepared to face the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series.

Cora seemed pretty excited about it when talking to reporters on Sunday before Game 3 at Fenway Park.

Boston coaches texting each other good luck messages is nothing new. It's happened quite often over the last 20 years as each of the four teams in the major sports -- Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins -- have won at least one championship.

Belichick has been the Patriots' head coach since 2000, so he's texted with quite a few Boston coaches over the years. He even was the Bruins' fan banner captain before Game 2 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final at TD Garden.

The most recent of these four Boston teams to win a title was the Patriots, who beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Super Bowl LIII back in February of 2019.

Cora and the Red Sox are hoping to end Boston's short championship drought this October. The Red Sox took home field advantage from the Rays with a Game 2 victory, and they should like their chances of winning Game 3 with Nathan Eovaldi starting.
