The Boston Red Sox used a 10th round pick on outfielder Stephen Scott. And now, he will join their minor-league system.

On the Fourth of July, it was announced in an official press release that Scott would be signing with the team. Scott will report to the team's Single-A affiliate, the Lowell Spinners, upon joining the team.

Scott played for four years at Vanderbilt and just helped lead the Commodores to their second College World Series title. During his final season, Scott hit .326 and crushed 12 homers with 51 RBIs. He also notched 41 walks to bring his on-base percentage to .446.

As a junior, Scott hit a career-high 15 homers. The 5-foot-11 outfielder has a well-rounded skill set on the offensive side of the ball.

Scott is the 21st member of the 40-player Red Sox draft class to sign. The deadline to agree to deals is July 12th by 5:00 p.m. ET.
