Red Sox vs Astros lineup: No George Springer for Houston, J.D. Martinez out again

Share

As the Red Sox get set for the second of a three-game series against the Astros, J.D. Martinez is out of the lineup again as Houston will be without George Springer.

This will be Martinez's fifth missed game in the last six as he continues his recovery from illness and a back ailment. He went 0-for-3 with a walk in Friday night's 4-3 loss to the Astros.

Springer injured his hamstring on Friday attempting to run down a Xander Bogaerts foul ball and could be headed to the injured list. While unfortunate for Springer and the Astros, Boston catches a break not having to worry about the talented center fielder on Saturday night.

The pitching matchup will feature David Price facing off against right-hander Brad Peacock. Because the Sox are against a righty after Friday's showdown with Wade Miley, Andrew Benintendi will return to the leadoff spot and Rafael Devers is back in the lineup after sitting out Friday night's game.

Here are the full lineups for both teams as first pitch is set for 7:15 p.m. at Minute Maid Park.
