Steve Pearce will miss even more time after suffering a setback during his rehab assignment in Triple-A Pawtucket.
Before Tuesday's Red Sox-Blue Jays matchup in Toronto, Dave Dombrowski told reporters Pearce injured his knee during a game and while the injury won't require surgery, the Sox first baseman will be out for at least a month.
It's been a frustrating season for the 2018 World Series MVP, who has been on the injured list since June 1 with a low back strain. In the brief time that he's been able to contribute this season, Pearce has hit just .180 with one home run and nine RBIs in 99 plate appearances.
