The Red Sox are keeping a close eye on Craig Kimbrel.
Boston is waiting to see what happens with the closer before making any moves on the relief market, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
During the Winter Meetings, it was reported Kimbrel was looking for a six-year deal worth around $100 million. Red Sox President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski subsequently hinted at the Sox moving on from Kimbrel, but don't rule out the 2018 World Series champion's return just yet. NBC Sports Boston's own Evan Drellich explained a week ago why you shouldn't believe the Sox are out on 30-year-old right-hander.
Other notable relievers currently on the free agent market include David Robertson, Zach Britton, and Adam Ottavino. Kimbrel's contract will set the price for them, and we can expect the dominoes to fall shortly thereafter.
