Here are Trevor Story's contract details with the Red Sox

Story signed a six-year, $140 million contract with the Red Sox in March 2022 that includes an opt-out after the 2025 season. Boston can negate the opt-out by picking up a seventh-year player option in the deal, which would make the deal worth $160 million in total.

Story will be 32 when he can potentially opt out of the deal. Should he see the maximum length of the contract, though, he'll be a free agent after his age 35 season.

Through six major league seasons, Story has earned nearly $30 million.ย
