The Boston Red Sox extended their win streak Saturday to four games with a 9-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park, and star shortstop Xander Bogaerts provided much of the offensive firepower.

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 at the plate with four RBI and two runs scored.

His most notable contribution was a mammoth three-run homer in the sixth inning that increased Boston's lead to 8-3.

A resurgence from Bogaerts would be a huge lift for a Red Sox team fighting the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays for positioning in the American League wild card race.

Bogaerts struggled offensively over the summer by hitting just .234 in July and .258 in August. He's batting .320 through 25 at-bats in September. With a mostly soft schedule for the remainder of the regular season, including four more games against the last-place Orioles, Bogaerts has plenty of opportunities to find his groove at the plate before the playoffs.
