For the second time this week, the Revolution have inked a goalkeeper a new contract.

Just two days after signing Matt Turner to a multi-year contract extension, New England has come to terms with Brad Knighton on a new deal that will make him one of the longest-tenured players in franchise history.

Next season, Knighton will join Shalrie Joseph, Matt Reis, and Chris Tierney as the only players in team history to play at least 10 years with the club. Diego Fagundez, who is also currently playing in his ninth season with the Revolution, could also reach the 10-season mark in 2020.

“I’m pleased that we have been able to reach a new contract agreement with Brad Knighton," Revolution Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena said in a press release. "Brad is an exceptional teammate and a proven goalkeeper in our league. With the signing of Brad and Matt Turner, I feel we have solidified our goalkeeping position at the Revolution for a number of years.”

Knighton is just 1-3-3 with 12 saves in seven appearances this season, but he has a career 15-16-12 mark with six shutouts in two career stints with the Revs (2007-2009, 2014-present).
