The Chicago Bears signed former Florida State linebacker Ro'Derrick Hoskins on Monday, according to multiple reports. A roster spot became available after the release of Jeremi Hall, the undrafted free agent offensive lineman from South Florida.

The Bears had an up-close look at Hoskins during minicamp. He was on GM Ryan Pace's shortlist of players to sign in case of injury, which is exactly what's happened through the first few days of camp.

Danny Trevathan (hamstring) and Joel Iyiegbuniwe (shoulder) have both been banged up for most of training camp and first-round pick Roquan Smith remains unsigned.

Hoskins appeared in eight games for the Seminoles last season, totaling 45 tackles and 1 1/2 tackles for loss.
