Mike Ditka's famous restaurant is probably closing soon

Things don't sound so good for Mike Ditka's restaurant.

Per the Chicago Sun-Times, Ditka's Gold Coast spot is most likely headed for closure – and soon. A Venture Capital firm bought the building that houses the restaurant in 2018, and while it sounds like the original plan was to keep it running, economic disputes around plumbing renovations has the restaurant in a "fourth and long" situation. The quotes coming from management don't sound very reassuring, either.

“Look, it’s been a great run,” Ditka told Sneed.

“It was unexpected. They sort of hit us by surprise,” he said. “But it’s over. Done. I’m disappointed. We were there a long time. But I’ve learned nothing is forever.

“The ownership is not from Chicago, but they have the right to do what they want with their property.”

There's still hope that a deal might be done in the next 60 days or so, but if not, go get one last pork chop in the next two months.
