Buried in Peter King's Football Morning In America column on Monday was this interesting nugget on the impending Mitch Trubisky-Nick Foles dynamic:
Everyone wants to know where this leaves Mitchell Trubisky. That’s easy. Trubisky will have his shot this year (assuming there is a football season), and Foles, one of the best teammates ever to roam an NFL sideline, will support him. If Trubisky is better, he’ll play and he’ll stave off Foles. I don’t see that happening, Trubisky being better. And I bet the Bears don’t either.
Like he admits, it's certainly not a groundbreaking take. With that said, it's always interesting to hear reporters of King's notoriety speculate on things like this, given his connections around the league. If failing to land Teddy Bridgewater because of reported concerns regarding a guaranteed spot was the first sign that the Bears still were in on Trubisky, hearing this type of info from King lends more credibility to that.

At this point, it almost seems like the question is less about whether Trubisky will be the starter and more about how much slack Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy will allow him.
