Cody Parkey already wasn't very popular in Chicago, but after hitting the upright and the crossbar in the game-deciding field goal, he is now the victim of some jokes online.
Let's start it off with the reaction from our Football Aftershow crew. Lance Briggs and Alex Brown were in disbelief.
Chicago native and Clippers guard Patrick Beverley said Parkey couldn't eat out for a while. Bulls forward Bobby Portis had an amusing back and forth with Beverley about Parkey.
Bro. He bet not be at tavern on rush. RpM steak or steak 48!!!! He need to go right home!!!!!— Patrick Beverley (@patbev21) January 7, 2019
Lol you basically said that man can’t even eat 😂😭😂 https://t.co/XWmbScEbn1— Bobby BP Portis (@BPortistime) January 7, 2019
NFL insider Ian Rapoport tweeted a screenshot of NFL Network colleague Mike Garafolo calling Parkey hitting the upright. It's low-hanging fruit as a joke, but it did come true.
The Bears mascot, Staley Da Bear, had the reaction of all Bears fans when the ball bounced out.

Speaking of things that encapsulate the reaction of all Bears fans, here's the ending of Seven.
Now onto some real savagery.

This one hurts two Chicago fan bases at once. Ouch!
He is also getting hammered on Wikipedia. Position: Professional Upright Hitter.

Just don't forget there's a human being behind all the anger from Bears fans.
