Ohio State announced Monday what amounts to a season-long suspension for wide receiver Torrance Gibson.

"Ohio State redshirt freshman wide receiver Torrance Gibson has been suspended from The Ohio State University for the 2016 fall semester for a violation of the university’s student code of conduct," the announcement read.

Gibson was a highly touted quarterback recruit out of Florida as part of Urban Meyer's 2015 rceruiting class, though he made the transition to wide receiver while redshirting last season. Gibson is still listed as both a quarterback and a wide receiver on the Buckeyes' roster.

Meyer was asked about Gibson's suspension during his weekly press conference Monday and made it clear the suspension wasn't his decision.

"It was not athletic department, football, and I disagree with it."
