The Blackhawks announced Monday that they have hired Kendall Coyne Schofield as a player development coach and youth hockey growth specialist, making her the organization's first-ever female development coach.
Coyne Schofield, who previously served as local community liaison, will assist the Rockford IceHogs coaching staff in the skills development of current players, while also evaluating and scouting potential prospects.
A native of Palos Heights, Ill. and graduate of Sandburg High School, Coyne Schofield has helped Team USA capture six gold medals at the IIHF Women's World Championship and another at the 2018 Winter Olympics. She also broke barriers on Jan. 25, 2019 by becoming the first woman to compete in the NHL All-Star Skills Competition, recording a time of 14.326 seconds in the Fastest Skater challenge.

Additionally, the Blackhawks hired former NHL forward Erik Condra as a player development coach and Juan Gonzalez as Rockford's strength and conditioning coach.
"Adding talented people with diverse and multi-faceted backgrounds like Kendall, Erik and Juan enhances our operations as we assess the changing landscape of hockey at all levels and continue to build and maintain a system of elite hockey," Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman said in a statement. "Each of these individuals brings unique experience to their position, and we are excited to welcome them to the Blackhawks family."
The Blackhawks also promoted Meghan Hunter to director of hockey administration and amateur scout. She previously served as senior executive assistant to the senior vice president/GM and hockey operations.
