Jonathan Toews reportedly flipped a Gold Coast condo for $6.95 million in just 48 days

Sometimes (well, most of the time, I suppose) it pays to be a three-time Stanley Cup champion and one of the most notorious players in Chicago Blackhawks history.

Just ask Jonathan Toews, who Tuesday morning reportedly flipped a Gold Coast condo for $6.95 million just 48 days after putting it on the market. Toews bought the condo last September for $6.45 million, meaning he may have netted as much as $500,000 from the transaction (depending on the cost of renovations he may have made).

According to Crain’s Chicago Business, another property owner in the building has been attempting to flip the entire 33rd floor (all one unit) since January to no avail. The report also said that there are currently 14 properties in the city of Chicago listed at $6 million or more that have been on the market for at least 150 days. All of that’s to say, not too shabby of a job from the Blackhawks’ center.

Toews still has four years remaining on an eight-year deal he signed with the Blackhawks back in 2014, but if he keeps this up, there might be a lucrative career in real estate waiting for him when he does decide to hang up his skates.
