NBC Sports Chicago to provide extensive, multi-platform coverage of 2018 NHL Draft

Chicago, IL (June 20, 2018) – With the Chicago Blackhawks holding TWO first round picks (#8 & #27 overall) for the first time since 2011, NBC Sports Chicago is set to provide fans with extensive multi-platform coverage of the 2018 NHL Draft, to be held this weekend in Dallas, TX, featuring on-site Blackhawks draft reports from American Airlines Arena, a special NHL Draft-focused edition of “SportsTalk Live,” live draft pick reaction cut-ins during the network’s Friday night White Sox telecast, a first-round recap edition of “In the Loop,” full-blown digital & social media coverage, new Draft-focused podcasts, and much more!  Please note NBC Sports Chicago’s multi-platform 2018 NHL Draft coverage details below:

FRIDAY, JUNE 22

  • 6:00 PM -- Special NHL Draft preview edition of “SportsTalk Live presented by The Chevy Silverado” with host David Kaplan (@thekapman) and special guests. (NOTES: Live stream available to authenticated NBC Sports Chicago subscribers at NBCSportsChicago.com/WatchLive or via the NBC Sports app; NBCSN will provide live coverage of the 2018 NHL Draft beginning at 6:30 PM)
  • Between 7:15-8:00 PM (time approx.) -- Live #8 pick reaction cut-in during NBC Sports Chicago’s White Sox telecasts featuring draft pick reaction/commentary. (NOTE: Live stream available at NBCSportsChicago.com)
  • 10:30 PM (time approx.) -- “In the Loop presented by GMC” - Featuring live reports/first-round recap from NBC Sports Chicago Blackhawks/NHL expert Pat Boyle (@BoyleNBCS) in Dallas, In the Loop will detail the Blackhawks first round picks, along with showcasing podium moment highlights/interviews featuring the new Blackhawks rookies, an overview of every trade made throughout the evening, plus a scheduled interview with Blackhawks Senior VP/General Manager Stan Bowman.
