Kris Dunn out for the remainder of Bulls-Nets with right knee injury

In the first possession of the Bulls' matchup with the Nets, Thad Young drew a charge on Joe Harris. But in the process, he landed on the leg of a nearby Kris Dunn.

Dunn's knee bent awkwardly on the play, and he spent the next couple minutes on the court in intense pain. He eventually limped off with some assistance.

The Bulls announced midway through the second quarter of the contest that Dunn would not return to the game with a "right knee injury."

Dunn is scheduled to return to Chicago on Saturday, where he will be evaluated by team physicians. Bulls coach Jim Boylen didn't have any additional information on the severity of the injury after the Bulls fell 133-118 to the Nets in Brooklyn.

“It sucks man,” Zach LaVine said. “I always say the worst thing in sports is injuries. He plays through a lot. We already know his background, how tough-minded he is. It sucks seeing anybody get injured, but especially a good friend and someone who has been with me throughout the NBA so far."

It's another unfortunate break for the Bulls, who are still without Lauri Markkanen, Wendell Carter Jr., Daniel Gafford and Otto Porter Jr.
