Crosstown Question: Should the White Sox trade Jeff Samardzija?

Share

In advance of the Crosstown series between the Cubs and White Sox, insiders Patrick Mooney and Dan Hayes are debating four topics regarding the two teams. This is the first of a four-part series.

Today the pair discuss whether or not the White Sox should consider trading Jeff Samardzija. The starter holds a 6-4 record with a 4.02 ERA after turning in his best performance of the year with a four-hit shutout Thursday against the Blue Jays.

But with the White Sox still six games out of the second Wild Card spot - and needing to jump seven teams to earn a playoff bid - there's thought general manager Rick Hahn could move Samardzija, who is in the final year of his contract.

Hear what Mooney and Hayes had to say on the issue in the video above.
