Cubs shortstop Javier Báez exited Friday's Cactus League game against Cleveland for precautionary reasons after getting hit by a pitch.
With the bases loaded in the third inning, Báez took a fastball from pitcher Cal Quantrill off his right forearm. He walked to the Cubs dugout under his own power and Cleveland ended the inning with one out (made possible by a new rule this spring training).
The Cubs said Báez has a forearm bruise and he exited the game under "an abundance of caution."
