Cubs-Marlins Game 2 postponed, rescheduled for Friday

The Cubs season will extend into Friday, at least.

MLB postponed Thursday's Game 2 of the Cubs and Marlins NL Wild Card Series due to the chance for inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled for Friday at 1:08 p.m. at Wrigley Field.

Game 3, if necessary, is scheduled for Saturday at 2:38 p.m. CT on ESPN2.

In the age of COVID-19, MLB this season has tried to avoid players sitting around for long delays. Just Wednesday, Game 2 between the Indians and Yankees was delayed twice due to rain. The game took four hours and 50 minutes to complete as a result.

The Cubs dropped Game 1 on Wednesday 5-1, putting the Marlins one win away from advancing to the NLDS.

Cubs starter and NL Cy Young Award candidate Yu Darvish was set to take the ball on Thursday, hoping to keep their season alive. His last start was this past Friday against the White Sox, meaning he'll have a full week between starts.
