Cubs starter Yu Darvish weighed in on potential health and safety concerns as MLB attempts to start its season amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Forty MLB players and/or staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus in the past week, according to USA Today, prompting MLB to shut down all spring training facilities. If/when MLB returns, teams will host spring training at their home ballparks, with the Toronto Blue Jays being the exception.

In wake of those positive tests, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred expressed the league's willingness to modify its proposal for the 2020 season in an email with MLBPA executive director Tony Clark on Sunday.

Darvish expressed concerns over the coronavirus in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times in March. He also weighed in on MLB's attempt to return amid the pandemic on Twitter last month.
