Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks threw a masterpiece on Opening Day against the Brewers, tossing a complete game shutout. Hendricks allowed just three hits — all to shortstop Orlando Arcia — walking none while striking out nine on 103 pitches.
The Cubs won 3-0, with a two-run homer by Ian Happ putting them out front for good in the third inning. After the game, center fielder Happ joked about what it was like playing behind Hendricks.
"Playing the game behind Kyle was pretty easy," Happ said. "I didn't do much; I think I caught one ball, threw one in.
"I basically could have sat down out there, so that's a lot of fun for me. If he can do it every day, I'll be fine."

Happ is obviously kidding around, but he's right in that he didn't get much action in the outfield. He fielded an Arcia single in the third, caught a line drive by Lorenzo Cain in the sixth and fielded another Arcia single in the ninth after moving to left field.
