Muyco's AFL Season Ends On A Sour Note

Jake Muycos AFL experience came to an unceremonious end Tuesday afternoon in Mesas 7-2 loss at Surprise.

Muyco, who was solid out of the pen at Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa during the regular season, was thrust into a starting role with Mesa and didnt shine in his seven outings. He took the loss Tuesday to finish at 0-3 with a 10.48 ERA in 22 13 innings. He allowed runs in every outing, including the six he surrendered to Surprise. The opposition finished with a .406 batting average against him.

Josh Vitters was 1-for-4, extending his hitting streak to seven games, while Ryan Flaherty scored a run as a pinch-runner.

The AFL regular season ends Thursday.
Peoria Saguaros White Sox
Eduardo Escobar and Jared Mitchell combined to go hitless in five at-bats during Tuesdays 15-2 loss to the Peoria Javelinas. Escobars average dropped to .320, the lowest it has been since he was hitting .311 on Nov. 1. Mitchell, meanwhile, is 3-for-32 and has seen his average plummet to a season-low .156.

Charlie Leesman allowed two runs in an inning.
