What if Twitter existed during the 2005 World Series?

Christopher Kamka: Twitter was launched July 15, 2006. It changed the way we experience live sports. We all missed out on watching the 2005 World Series together through the lens of (what was then) 140 character bursts of fact, opinion and emotion.

Chuck Garfien: TechnoIogy was really starting to change around that time. I actually received the very first text on my cell phone (a Nextel!) right after the White Sox won the pennant in Anaheim. A friend of mine in Colorado saw me on TV and sent me a text. I looked at my phone and had no idea what it was.

Chris: What would it have been like to enjoy the White Sox four-game sweep of the Astros in tweets?

Chuck: It would have been a totally different viewing experience that’s for sure. I still have my old notebooks from covering the World Series. I found some great notes and quotes! I’ll write some tweets as if the technology existed back then.

Chris: I’ll do the same, though I’ll stick to the facts here since that’s what I do.
