A.J. Pollock latest injured White Sox, leaves game

Nope, that’s not déjà vu. The White Sox have lost another player to injury. Newly acquired right fielder A.J. Pollock left Saturday’s game with tightness in his right hamstring after hitting a single in the third inning.

Pollock took an aggressive turn around first on the single, and winced in pain as he jogged back to the base.  Andrew Vaughn came in to replace Pollock on the basepaths.

The White Sox say Pollock is undergoing further evaluation, and it’s unclear how much time Pollock will miss, or if he’ll miss any time at all. Tony La Russa said Pollock was set to take off on paternity leave following Sunday’s series finale against the Tigers, so the team may opt to simply sit Pollock on Sunday regardless of his prognosis.

The injury comes just one day after the White Sox lost Lucas Giolito to an abdominal strain. Tony La Russa said Giolito is headed to the IL.
