Lucas Giolito capped off his incredible week with an accolade from MLB. The league announced Monday that Giolito won the A.L. Player of the Week Award.
Giolito only made one start over the week, but he made the most of it by tossing a no-hitter against the Pirates. He also notched 13 strikeouts while only walking one, for the second start in a row.
The White Sox have now gone back-to-back for A.L. Player of the Week, as Jose Abreu won the award one week before Giolito.
This is Giolito’s second Player of the Week Award. He has also won the Player of the Month award, once.
