Sixers' Josh Richardson rates Wilt Chamberlain's chest-baring fashion, Julius Erving's swag

Sixers guard Josh Richardson has often been described as the Sixers' "dot connector," and the "glue guy" that does all the little things. So, it’s no surprise that Richardson brought the detail on fashion in our latest NBA style segment.

We went back to the days of Wilt Chamberlain embracing the chest-baring trends to Dr. J's swag, to Phil Jackson’s overalls and Dennis Rodman animal prints, to Allen Iverson and baggy clothes, to Tim Duncan jorts, LeBron James short suits, and Dwyane Wade turtlenecks.

“It’s all about the confidence that the person wearing it has,” Richardson said in an interview of the most important factors when choosing a fit.

And what would a fashion segment be without grades for his teammates, Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris? And Richardson had plenty to say …

“I don’t talk about it a lot, but I really pay attention to the stuff people wear," he said. "I like complimenting the homies when they look fresh!”

And of course, we went through some old fashion finds of his own, like the one time he wore orange and white checkered overalls.

But nowadays, it’s all about the details for J-Rich, who describes his style as effortless and detail-oriented.

“If you know, you know," he said, "and if you don’t know, that's too bad, you’ve got to level up!”
