We redesigned the NBA logo with Philly athletes and they're a thing of beauty

There have been many historic moments and iconic players in Philadelphia history — enough to raise this question: What would the league logos look like with a Philly twist?

Today we look at the Sixers’ redesigns.

Debates sparked back in January about the NBA changing their logo to a silhouette of soon-to-be Hall of Famer, the late Kobe Bryant. While that hasn’t happened yet (though I’m one to agree that it should), many seemed to like the concept of having a new logo represent the league.

Here were some of the ideas we came up with, that would at least represent Philadelphia.

There may not be a more beloved Sixer than Allen Iverson. He’s symbolic to the city, left behind a legacy that will last forever and is still cheering for Philadelphia as much as he was during his career. So this redesign is all about The Answer himself.

It’s possible the only other Sixer that can compete with Iverson’s legacy, is the man who took the NBA by storm and had a legacy of his own. The one and only, Dr. J.

Julius Erving became one of the most well-known figures in basketball history, helping pave the way to the league that we know today. With Erving leading the way, the Sixers won their third NBA Championship in 1982-83.
