Eagles inactives: Johnson returns, Raiders without key star

LAS VEGAS — Raiders star tight end Darren Waller is inactive for Sunday’s game against the Eagles.

This is a big loss for the Raiders.

Waller was added to the injury report on Saturday with an ankle injury and was listed questionable. He was not on the injury report this week.

Waller, 29, has become a star for the Raiders. He has had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and is off to a fast start in 2021. Through six games, he has 33 catches for 378 yards and 2 touchdowns. He leads the Raiders in receptions and is second in receiving yards behind just Henry Ruggs III.

Here are the Eagles’ inactives for today’s game:

  • S Anthony Harris (hands/groin)
  • C/G Jack Anderson (hamstring)
  • QB Gardner Minshew
  • DT Marlon Tuipulotu
  • CB Tay Gowan
  • CB Mac McCain
  • G Sua Opeta

Anthony Harris came into the weekend listed as questionable but was downgraded to out on Saturday. That means Marcus Epps will likely start next to Rodney McLeod.

Lane Johnson will return after missing three games dealing with mental health issues. He’ll start at right tackle, setting up this offensive line (from left to right): Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Jason Kelce, Jack Driscoll, Lane Johnson. This will be the fifth different starting offensive line for the Eagles this season.

Dallas Goedert will also make his return after missing last week’s game on the COVID-19 list. After the trade of Zach Ertz last Friday, Goedert is now the unquestioned No. 1 tight end and should have a significant role on Sunday.

Safety Elijah Riley and tight end Richard Rodgers, who were both elevated on Saturday, are active for this game.
