The best news from the Eagles injury report on Thursday is that Darius Slay is progressing through the NFL’s concussion protocol.
Slay, who suffered a concussion against the Saints, was a limited participant on Thursday after being held out of practice on Wednesday. This doesn’t guarantee that he’ll be able to play against the Cardinals on Sunday but it’s a step in the right direction.
Slay will need to continue to progress and get cleared by an independent neurologist before returning to play.
Here’s the full injury report from today:
Did not participate: Jack Driscoll (knee), Avonte Maddox (knee)
Limited: Darius Slay (concussion), Malik Jackson (concussion), Grayland Arnold (hamstring), Shaun Bradley (neck), Michael Jacquet (hamstring), T.J. Edwards (hamstring)
Full: Rudy Ford (hamstring), Josh Sweat (shoulder), Fletcher Cox (rest)
The two guys who didn’t practice on Thursday have both already been ruled out for this coming weekend in Arizona.
Meanwhile, the fact that Ford was upgraded to a full participant on Thursday signals that he’s nearly ready to return from a hamstring injury that has kept the special teams ace out since Nov. 15.
And it also appears that Jacquet, Arnold and Edwards have a chance to play on Sunday. The last day of practice this week will go a long way to determining that.
