Eagles vs. Saints betting odds: Intriguing Jalen Hurts prop bets in rookie’s first start

Doug Pederson has decided the time is now for rookie and former Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts to get his first career start.

It’s hard to get a gauge on how this year’s second-round pick will perform against a New Orleans defense that is ranked No. 1 in the NFL. Putting up points will be a challenge too for the Birds. The Saints allow just over 20 points per game, good for 4th best in the league.

Hurts’ over/under on passing yards is 203.5 while his rushing yards total is 40.5. In his most extended playing time this past week, Hurts threw for 109 yards and rushed for another 29. Against Green Bay, Hurts played nearly the entire 2nd half in place of Carson Wentz.

Like a New Orleans jazz musician, Hurts may have to do some improvising vs. the stingy Saints defense. Time will tell if he can help send the Saints marching home with just their third loss on the season. That’s no easy task considering Sean Payton’s bunch is 19-3 SU and 17-5 ATS on the road since 2018 per Rotoworld.
