Buckle up, the race that is the 2020-21 season is about to kick into another gear for the Flyers.
The NHL on Tuesday night announced further updates to the schedule. Among them were three changes and two makeup dates for the Flyers.
Starting Saturday, when Alain Vigneault's team opens a back-to-back set in Buffalo against the Sabres, the Flyers are scheduled to play 34 games in the next 63 days going to the end of April. For context, the Flyers' first 34 games last season were played in 75 days. That was a normal stretch with no extended breaks.

The Flyers have 17 games in March and 15 in April. With one of the changes Tuesday, the Flyers now play three straight games against the Penguins on the road from March 2-6.
Here were Tuesday's updates to the Flyers' schedule:
• Flyers at Penguins on April 13 has been moved to Saturday, March 6 (1 p.m. ET/NBCSP)
• Flyers at Bruins on March 7 has been moved to Monday, April 5 (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP)
NHL
• Flyers vs. Bruins on April 5 has been moved to Saturday, April 10 (2 p.m. ET/NBCSP)
• Flyers at Capitals on Feb. 9 (postponed) has been moved to Tuesday, April 13 (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP)
• Flyers at Rangers on Feb. 14 (postponed) has been moved to Thursday, April 22 (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP)
Before the back-to-back set against Buffalo this weekend, the Flyers host the Rangers on Wednesday night (7 p.m. ET/NBCSN). Brian Elliott will start in net for the Flyers.
Carter Hart is coming off a rough performance in the NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe game in which he surrendered six goals to the Bruins for the second time this season.
The Flyers are not worried about Hart and know they'll need both of their netminders down the stretch.
"I know [goaltending coach Kim Dillabaugh] talked to him today, went through some video with him," Vigneault said Tuesday after practice. "Carter’s a young goaltender, every game he plays it’s experience for him, it’s only going to get him better, get his game better, get our team better.
"We’re playing tomorrow and then we are starting a sequence of six games in nine nights and I think it’s three or four weeks in a row where we play four games in six nights. So we’re going to be playing a lot of hockey, we have two good goaltenders that I’m both going to use. The next time that I do use Carter, I’m sure that he’s going to be very good for us."
