Jakub Voracek is tougher than he gets credit for much of the time.

Remember his effort in last season's Stadium Series game? He's also missed only 13 games since the 2012-13 season, playing 557 out of a possible 570 contests.

On Saturday afternoon at the Wells Fargo Center, Voracek stepped up to the plate as the Senators delivered a pair of hard back-to-back hits on Travis Konecny and Joel Farabee. The 22-year-old Konecny, who is leading the Flyers in scoring, was forced to leave the game to get checked after Mark Borowiecki leveled him in open ice.

He did not return to the game (see story).

Five seconds into his shift and following the hit on Farabee, Voracek dropped the gloves with Nick Paul. The fans loved it.

To open the middle frame, Farabee fought Jean-Gabriel Pageau, who delivered the hit on the 19-year-old.

"The game is going to change right when that happens," Shayne Gostisbehere said after the Flyers' 4-3 win. "[Konecny] has probably been arguably our best player this whole season. When he gets hit like that, it lights a spark in each one of us to get out there and do what we did — get a win, an ugly win, it’s huge."
