By Jordan Hall 14 photos 1/14 Yeah, it was pretty awesome looking. One for the photo albums. The undermanned Flyers did not enjoy a memorable result with a 7-3 loss to the Bruins. 2/14 The Flyers got a chance to see the ice and surroundings in the morning before the game. Carter Hart showed his love for the Birds. 3/14 The Flyers snapped some team photos in the morning. The NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe game marked the Flyers' fifth outdoor game in team history. 4/14 Suffice it to say the Flyers will be framing this team picture. The background worked out well. 5/14 You didn't think Gritty was going to stay home, did you? 6/14 James van Riemsdyk played in the seventh outdoor game of his NHL career. No NHL team has played more than six. 7/14 Here was the Flyers' locker room not far off the ice. 8/14 In the 60th game of his NHL career, Nicolas Aube-Kubel played in the first outdoor game of his NHL career. 9/14 With concerns over the ice surface because of extreme sun, the NHL changed the start time of the game twice before Sunday. The puck was dropped at 4:59 PT with a beautiful but glaring sunset. 10/14 The Flyers played 11 forwards and seven defensemen, but with a small twist. Defenseman Mark Friedman entered the lineup and played right winger on the club's fourth line. He also played some defense. 11/14 "In the second and the third, I think the environment, the playing field was better for both teams," Sean Couturier said. "They were better than us; we’ve got to give them credit." 12/14 Some fans found interesting ways to enjoy the action at Lake Tahoe. 13/14 The Flyers dropped to 1-3-1 all-time in outdoor games. 14/14 The scenery was picturesque but the Flyers struggled mightily as the night wore on. In the second and third periods, the Bruins outscored the Flyers 5-1 and outshot them 27-8.
