Arizona men's basketball head coach Sean Miller has come under intense scrutiny this last week over reports of widespread NCAA corruption.
On Friday, ESPN reported that FBI wiretaps have Miller and Christian Dawkins (a former associate of agent Andy Miller) discussing a $100,000 payment to land stud prospect Deandre Ayton.
Arizona decided to not have Miller coach Saturday in its loss to Oregon, and the school has already lost a top commit in Shareef O'Neal, Shaq's son.
On Monday morning, former Arizona Wildcat T.J. McConnell defended his former coach on Instagram.
I will never turn my back on you. EVER! You are one of the best coaches I've ever had and easily the best person I've ever come in contact with! You have literally changed my life for the better and I'm truly grateful for you everyday. I would not be where I'm at today career wise and especially wouldn't be the person I am today without you. You have been like a second father to me and I love you to death for that coach. I could go on forever about how good of a coach and person you are and I KNOW so many others feel the same. You taught me to keep my head up and persevere and I want you to do the same! Love you my man. #justus #wereallwegot #allin
McConnell played his final two seasons under Miller at Arizona after starting his college career at Duquesne. In those two seasons, Arizona went a combined 67-9 and lost in the Elite 8 both years.
