CHICAGO -- Jonathan Toews and rookie Brandon Pirri scored in a four-round shootout, and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Phoenix Coyotes 5-4 on Thursday night for their fourth straight win.
Radim Vrbata had the lone shootout goal for Phoenix, 7-1-1 in its last nine games.
Pirri tied the score 4-all 3 minutes into the third, and 4 seconds after a Chicago power play had elapsed. He connected on a midair deflection of Brent Seabrook's drive from the top of the circle.
Brandon Saad, Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa also scored in regulation for the Blackhawks, who extended their point streak to eight games (7-0-1). Chicago fired a season-high 52 shots through overtime at Coyotes goalie Mike Smith (see full recap).
Bruins top Blue Jackets in OT
BOSTON -- Milan Lucic scored on a breakaway with 49 seconds left in overtime to lift the Boston Bruins to a 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night.
Lucic blocked Cam Atkinson's shot just inside the blue line and the puck took a big bounce toward the Columbus end with nobody between Lucic and Blue Jackets goalie Sergei Bobvrosky. Lucic corralled the puck and poked a shot between Bobvrosky's pads.
Loui Eriksson and Shawn Thornton also scored the Bruins.

Boston goalie Chad Johnson stopped 32 shots playing for just the third time this season with starter Tuukka Rask getting a night off.
Bobvrosky made 28 saves for the Blue Jackets, who took a 1-0 lead in the first on Blake Comeau's second goal of the season. Boston scored twice before Nick Foligno restored the tie with 3:26 left in the second period (see full recap).
Steen, Blues roll over Avalanche
ST. LOUIS -- Alexander Steen scored his league-leading 15th and 16th goals and the St. Louis Blues' slumping power play woke up with three goals in a 7-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night.
St. Louis has won seven of nine and is off to the fastest start in franchise history with 12 wins in its first 17 games.
Derek Roy, David Backes, Vladimir Tarasenko, Chris Stewart and Jay Bouwmeester also scored for the Blues, who have won their last five home meetings with the Avalanche.
T.J. Oshie added four assists for the first four-point game of his career.
The Blues were 3 for 4 on the power play, breaking out of a 1-for-15 skid that spanned the previous five-plus games.
Nathan MacKinnon, Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly scored for Colorado, which lost back-to-back contests for the first time this season (see full recap).
