MALLORCA, Spain -- Robert-Jan Derksen of the Netherlands and Jean-Francois Lucquin of France held a three-stroke lead at the Mallorca Classic after the remaining 54 players finished their second round Saturday morning.
Derksen and Lucquin both shot a 5-under 65 Friday for a 9-under total of 131 at the European Tour’s penultimate event.
Ireland’s Peter Lawrie (68) and Denmark’s Mads Vibe-Hastrup (66) are tied for third at 134. Sergio Garcia (67) was one more shot back in a group of four tied for fifth, which included defending champion Niclas Fasth (70).
Play ended early on Friday because of poor light, while thunderstorms forced organizers to suspend the first round with 60 players still to finish on Thursday.
Weather forecasts for Saturday called for a high of 70 degrees with cloudy skies.
