GOLF CHANNEL Scores Big With Record-Setting Presidents Cup Ratings

GOLF CHANNEL’s first-ever telecast of The Presidents Cup was the most-watched cable coverage in the history of the event.

GOLF CHANNEL’s two-day average of The Presidents Cup was a 1.3 household rating. Thursday delivered an average 1.2 million total viewers, while Friday’s total viewers topped 1.4 million (source: Nielsen Media Research).

Additionally, both Thursday and Friday set records for GOLF CHANNEL’s highest “Total Day” rating (6am-6am) ever in a 4th Quarter.

The Presidents Cup is the latest in a string of “cup-related” ratings successes for GOLF CHANNEL. The network recently celebrated its highest-rated 3rd quarter ever – led by record-setting cable coverage of The Solheim Cup in August – and saw its ratings for early round coverage of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup up 15 percent versus 2008 (and +5% vs. 2007).

Off the air, GolfChannel.com has ranked as the number-one golf site on the Internet in six of the past eight months (source: comScore).
