BETHESDA, Md. – On the official “caddie/player” sheet issued by the U.S. Golf Association Brodie Flanders is listed as Anthony Kim’s bagman as he has been for much of the last four seasons.
As Kim rounded 36 holes in 4 over, an eventful trip that featured just two pars on his closing nine, there was a new face on his bag. Kevin Schellar, a friend and aspiring Los Angeles-area teaching pro, stepped in this week and helped Kim rally to make it to Sunday, Kim’s 26th birthday.
No word on the last-minute replacement, but like many PGA Tour marriages it seems the duo simply had irreconcilable differences.
