Can’t help but wonder what Ben Hogan would think of the 54-hole leaderboard this week at Colonial, dubbed “Hogan’s Alley” after the Hawk won five titles there.
Brian Davis and Bryce Molder are tied atop the field at 16 under par. Both Davis and Molder are etching out solid PGA Tour careers, but neither will ever be confused for one of the game’s top shot-makers, which is supposed to be the ultimate litmus test for success at Colonial.
Davis is 118th in ballstriking on Tour, while Molder is 153rd. Both, however, are among the best putters this week. Hardly Hogan-esque
