AUGUSTA, Ga. – Finally made it out to the new teeing area, the sprawling range that looks like it’s been there since Bobby Jones converted the old Fruitland Nursery into a golf masterpiece.
Although unscientific, the vast majority of players polled said it was the best they’d ever seen and, at least for one long-time Masters participant, a long way from the old days.
“When I first started playing here I’d get a bag of balls and have Fluff shag them for me,” said Peter Jacobsen, who played the Masters 11 times.
